Voices of Detroit Initiative (VODI) is a community-based health care coalition dedicated to providing Detroit’s vulnerable population with access to affordable, effective health care through an organized, sustainable delivery system.

WHO WE SERVE
Created in 1998, by Kellogg Foundation grant of $5 Million.

The Kellogg Foundation’s Community Voices initiative sought to achieve Four goals towards improving access for the uninsured and under insured:

  • Sustained increases in access to care for vulnerable and uninsured populations
  • Strengthening of the community safety net through community driven change and community partnerships
  • Model should provide system change and be sustainable beyond the 5 years
  • Development of best practices that could be shared with other communities

WHAT WE DO

VODI aims to service the vulnerable populations of metro Detroit.  We achieve this my producing initiatives, projects and programs geared at address a health or health related need.
