ABOUT US

ladders_peopleThe Voices of Detroit Initiative (VODI) developed a “virtual system” of care for uninsured residents of the City of Detroit prior to the enactment of the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

Despite limited resources, VODI partners created “medical homes” for the uninsured, using a tracking system to help reduce costs, improve quality, and expanding care options for Detroit’s under-served.

More than 1 million patient encounters are reflected in the VODI health databases. Without VODI for over a decade over 70 percent of these are working people would have had no other access to health coverage.

Since the passage of the ACA, VODI works to help preserve health benefits and address other health related needs for this population.
